The morning started out extra white again but not from frost this time, but heavy wet snow that caused many tree limbs bend towards the ground but at least the wind and temperature just above freezing helped to remove the snow from the trees.

By morning, there will probably enough new snow on the ground for this cat to bury its head, although I sure don’t know why it would want to dig in the cold stuff but there is that pull of new snow waiting to be played in.

The squirrel must have heard about the snow coming tomorrow and decided to hide out in the wood duck house.

The winter decoration makes this burdock head look even more spiky but at least the icy barbs will melt and not get embedded in your skin.

The trees were fairly free of frost this morning without the foggy start of the day. The sun was out for part of the day but there wasn’t much rime ice left to shine on, not like earlier in the month when the white formations popped against the blue sky.

Another foggy night provided more rime ice this Sunday creating another white and gray landscape, especially without any sunshine again.

The freezing fog again overnight led to another frosty morning, but meteorologists would actually call it rime ice and not hoar frost. Rime ice forms when the object, like trees limbs, and the air are both below freezing and liquid drops, like fog, are present. And the week of freezing fog has created a lot of white winter days.

The little nature fairies have been busy decorating objects again with its own type of flocking, which lasted all day without the sun out to melt the frost away.

The gray morning revealed another frosty day but the white coating doesn’t look as pretty as when the sun is shining like it did last Sunday.

A winter squatting mouse had another frosty view from the birdhouse today, but the sun didn’t shine bright as the rodent made tracks in the snow when it ventured out.
